From:

We're continuing our coverage of our invaluable climbing Sherpas who are the backbone of the NFB Everest Expedition. We will be featuring two each day so you can get to know them. The last but not least of our climbing Sherpas are:

Chombi Sherpa

Chombi Sherpa (age 52) is from Khumjung where he lives with his wife and four children (ages 25, 20, 15 and 6). Chombi Sherpa has been on Mount Everest eleven times and has summited one time in 1993. Chombi has been a climbing Sherpa for Rob Hall four times and says that Rob Hall was a very nice man and good leader. He helped build the chortan honoring Rob Hall with his wife who has visited Nepal three times since his death. Chombi is enjoying being with the NFB Everest Expedition climbers. He says they are "strong, good people." When Chombi Sherpa is not climbing, he farms potatoes, buckwheat and other vegetables.

Ang Pessang Sherpa

Ang Pessang Sherpa has been on Mount Everest three times but has never summited. He is from the village of Porche where he lives with his family on a farm. He is the shyest of all our Sherpas and just says he thinks the NFB Everest Expedition team is "all very good!"
